Mekong Delta

It was 1 1/2 hour drive to the Delta. More over-loaded bikes on the way, and we saw rice fields with family grave sites on their own property and water buffalo.  We boarded delta boats and went up the Delta and stopped to see how the people live and make a living. We had an interesting stop at the coconut candy factory that had some delicious treats!

We stopped and walked into the jungle - George found a python(ugh!), we were served local tropical fruit and entertained by locals.  Took a horse drawn wagon ride to a canal where we boarded a single oar rowboat thru some narrow/peaceful channels and back to our boat.  Also passed a local beauty shop.  Amazing…

Finished up the day with lunch and had ‘elephant ear’ fish and other good local fare.  Headed back to the ‘Quest’ to rest up and get ready for 2 days at sea.
